Job Description

The Customer Service Assistant provides assistance to the Customer Service Department by providing order entry and helping customers either on the phone with inquiries regarding

  • Accurately input orders following the company’s defined Product Offer Manual guidelines, order related policies and procedures, watching for missing/conflicting information and proper adherence to order detail scanning procedures.
  • Use appropriate delivery channels to route customer requests and/or communication received. Cannels may include; phone, email, fax customer service or OSR, to reach / respond to customers in a timely fashion. Assist customers over the phone regarding general questions and directing them to the appropriate Customer Service Rep if further information is needed.
  • Proofread orders and question conflicting or missing details prepped by the CSR, and by comparing customer purchase orders against sales order confirmations, to ensure accurate entry of order information.
  • Performs follow-up activities on will calls, order clarification, delayed shipments, and other tasks as assigned, timely and consistently; documenting results, and follow-up actions; effectively coordinating / communicating with various internal departments to answer questions, provide clarification or make changes to orders.
  • Assist customer service by consistently monitoring and responding to inbound customer faxes and / or emails, therefore reducing unnecessary inbound calls related to the communication.
  • Work on special projects as assigned. Identify, quantify/recommend, and take an active role in improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of Customer Service or front office experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Proficient use of office machinery including, fax machine, copier and scanner
  • ERP system

Preferred:

  • SAP ERP Systems
  • Inside Sales experience
  • Knowledge of ASC Products

  • Customer service orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
